RSSMasher Review Problems With Internal RSS Feed Search )Solved)
I'm writing this up today I'll RSSMasher because there an is an issue related to the Google API where they are no longer allowing you to search for RSS feeds by keyword. If you try to do a search using the software's internal search even for the most generic of terms, it returns nothing.
As you can see below:
When Is The RSSMasher Relaunch?
The good news is any previous RSS Mashes you had created still work fine. To be honest, despite the inconvenience finding a new way to do the internal search is may have been one of the best things that happened to the product. I found the internal search to be hit and miss. A good percentage of the time it was bringing back FeedBurner feeds that were empty but had matching keywords, so I found myself looking to external sources quite a bit.
Problems Have Been Solved: The WorkArounds Are Simple
If you already have the product, here are a few ways you canstill get good feeds:
- Search your YouTube home page and look for recent videos with over 1 Million views or else with the last week with at least 100k views per day.
- In training they suggest Page2RSS.com scrape any page for an RSS feed, but if you go there now this site is down. I tried searching for a similar tool and found this https://feed43.com/, but I have found the output to be sub par not worth using
- You could check the training for a few of these resources:
- Or you could do what we always do; SEARCH BING. Because their index doesn't move as fast as Google, you will find, and even better RSS feed to use than Google.
Until then, I am confident they will find a resolution to internal feeds. I still use this product every day to populate websites and to add personality to my minions.
Even with the current bugs I still consider it a “must-have tool.”
